10/17/02 – The may have heard rumors. Nothing concrete yet, but there are some Tweeter plans in the works. Keep in touch for the latest news. And be sure to call your favorite tavern, and tell them you want to see Tweeter back again!
09/23/02 – Illness kept Marc from performing the final Tweeter shows this weekend. We want to thank everyone who came out to Massena Springs and Pirates Pub to support the band. We love all you guys. All Tweeter shows are cancelled until further notice. There are currently no definite plans for Tweeter in the future. The CD project has been shelved. Months of work, down the drain. What will happen next? Keep in touch here for current information.
GEORGES HAS CANCELLED. The story is that Tweeter was on the schedule, they called to confirm, a girl answered the phone and told them the band couldn’t play this weekend. So they hired a DJ. We checked with everyone here and we DON’T BELIEVE IT’S POSSIBLE. After some deliberation they decided to KEEP THE DJ. Go figure. Please call them at 315-384-8996 and tell them if you are disappointed that they cancelled on what might be the LAST TWEETER WEEKEND FOR SOME TIME. Tweeter 8.5 (
09/16/02 – A great night at CJ’s. Thanks to all who came out. Still lots of turmoil in the band.
09/09/02 – A small but partying crowd at Massena Springs last Friday night. Saturday at the Toy Run was one whole day of excitement. Food, music, bikes, campers, and a great time throughout the day. The music started around 6:00pm and ran until 2:00am, the food was tremendous, and everyone just seemed to be having a good time. If you weren’t at this event, you won’t be seeing much of it as we were asked not to take any pictures. I recommend everyone plan to attend next year. Still a great deal of turmoil in the band. Vinnie has quit and there is no definite replacement for him yet. Check back often for the latest news. Just one show this weekend at CJ’s in Winthrop. See you there!!!!!
09/04/02 – A computer (or operator) error caused the entire navigational structure of this site to be lost last week. We are working to get everything back to where it belongs. Sorry for any inconvenience. A late but great night at Smokey’s on Friday night. Monday was a long, long Labor Day celebration with the band playing from 5:00 until almost 11:00. And the people just kept on coming. What is the future for the band? We still just don’t know. There are rumors that Tweeter 4 will make another appearance, but that just hasn’t happenened yet.
08/26/02 – Still turmoil within Tweeter. Vinnie has tendered his resignation and will perform his last night with the band this Friday at Smokey’s in Massena. Please come out for his farewell performance, and ask him “what he is thinking of?” What will happen with the band? Well we just don’t know. They are scheduled to play Monday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Massena Springs for the Labor Day celebration, and someone will have to be there. Be sure to drop down for the holiday and see what’s up, and keep in touch for all the Tweeter news as it happens. See you this weekend!!!!!
08/22/02 – U.S. Immigrations problems at the border kept Tweeter guitarist Marc Muir from entering the country this past weekend. We want to apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment there may have been. Tweeter will perform this Friday at George’s Tavern in Norfolk. But they WILL NOT perform at Nichoville Grill on Saturday, they will be at Massena Springs. For those of you who can, please phone the Nichoville Grill at (315) 328-4898 and ask if Tweeter will be playing, and then tell them how disappointed you are that they will not be performing there on Saturday. May issues still up in the air with the band. Stay in touch and we will will try and keep you posted with the latest developments. Thank you everyone who emailed us with encouragement and support. I know we don’t have time to answer all of the correspondence, but if you are on the mailing list, you will receive all the latest information. Thanks again to everyone. See you Friday Night!!!!!
08/16/02 – Due to border/immigrations problems, Tweeter WILL NOT PERFORM ANY SHOWS THIS WEEKEND. Please stay in touch for further information
08/15/02 – Two more great nights this past weekend. A packed house and lots of excitement at Charlies in Massena on Friday, and a busy and partying crowd at the Rutland Station in Moira on Saturday. Future plans for the band are still sketchy, but Tweeter WILL PERFORM at CJ’s this Friday and Pirates Pub the Saturday. See you all there….
08/05/02 – A big crowd at Ton’s last Saturday night. Thanks to all who made it out to hear the band. Studio time is up in the air this week, as well as many other things. It seems that Tweeter may be disbanding due to internal conflicts. Some want to play more, some want to play less. The band price went up, but some places are still not paying the new rates. Does anybody really know what’s going on? I don’t think so. This weekend’s shows are Friday night at Charlie’s in Massena and Saturday at the Rutland Station in Moira. Both sure to be good times, and possibly the last two Tweeter shows you will see. So be SURE to be out at least one night this weekend. See you there!!!!!
06/03/02 – A small but lively crowd at the Glass Onion in Canton on Friday. The first time that Tweeter has played at this club and the patrons and staff seemed happy with the band. We want to thank Jim and Rick for a great roadie job. Saturday night was a packed house at JC’s River Run (River Lanes) in Waddington. As you probably guessed, more studio time scheduled for the boys this week. The first round of studio pictures have been posted. Click here to see studio pictures. The Tweeter bus (actually we’ve been informed that it’s not a bus, it’s a Dodge Maxi Van, but it has a 360 V-8, lots of power, we call it the bus, and it made it back home this weekend unlike some other “busses” that were broken down on the side of route 310) is scheduled for some cosmetic adjustment. Just one show this weekend at CJ’s in Winthrop. Always a great time. See you there!!!!!
05/29/02 – A marvelous holiday weekend. It was great to see so many people relaxing and enjoying the beginning of summer. We are hoping to enjoy many more weekends on the water. More studio time for the boys this week. A new venue on Friday at the Glass Onion in Canton. Saturday’s show is at JC’s River Run (the Waddington Bowling Alley) where Tweeter hasn’t been for a few months. So, some new scenery and some scenery we haven’t seen in a while. See you all there!!!!!
05/20/02 – WHAT A WEEKEND! Two nights in a row at George’s. The Beach Party was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to everyone who entered the contests. The pictures from the beach party will be up soon. The contest pictures will be in the members only area. Remember you can become a Tweeter Web Site Member for only $20.00 which covers the entire year. The boys are back in the studio again this week. The drum tracks are complete and they will be recording bass tracks this week. Along with the 6 song original CD there will also be a 4 cover song demo CD. Check back for timetables and release dates. The band is on retreat this weekend at Cole’s Creek. They will be between sites 180 and 190, so stop and visit if you get a chance. There’s still a few sites left, so if you have a camper or tent or truck or anything you can sleep in, sign up for one, but do it soon cause they’re going fast. Click here for the Cole’s Creek weather forecast. Keep your eye on the schedule for possible last minute changes. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend.
05/13/02 – A GREAT night at CJ’s. Thanks to everyone who came out. More studio work for the band this week. A big weekend coming up with back to back nights at George’s in Norfolk. Tweeter will play Saturday night from 10:00pm to 2:00am. The fourth annual Beach Party will begin Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm. If you have ever attended or heard about one of these, you know it has the reputation to be one HELL OF A PARTY!. There will be beach party music from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, and Tweeter will play from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Then there will be a limbo contest with a $25.00 cash prize and at 11:00 there will be a bikini contest with $100.00 cash prize. Everyone is invited to attend. Wear your bathing suits and beach cloths. The wilder the better. Either enter the contest or stop in to see who takes home the $100.00 prize. There will be sand, drink specials, beach party music, and prizes all day long. After the contests, there will be music right through until closing. Click here for the George’s Beach Party Page. This is one you DON’T WANT TO MISS. Tweeter will be on retreat at Cole’s Creek all next weekend, so these will be the last shows for two weeks, so grab your friends, grab your neighbors, grab your relatives, grab your swim suit, and get on down to George’s. See you there!!!!!
05/01/02 – A GREAT night at Massena Spring’s. Thanks to everyone who came out to see the band. Uncle Pat couldn’t believe how much Cuervo we went through over the course of the evening. And a wonderful evening at the Hart wedding on Saturday. And the food was fabulous. Congratulations to David and Margo. What great people, and a great bunch of family and friends. The boys are in the studio all week, catching up on lost recording time. Just one show this week on Friday night at CJ’s in Winthrop. See you there!
04/29/02 – Another weekend at CJ’s. Slower than usual, but it’s that time of year. This Friday’s show is at Massena Springs Tavern in Massena. There will be free V.I.P. door passes for mailing list members, so if you’re not already signed up, please click here. Saturday Tweeter will be playing for the Hart wedding, and I’m sure we’ll see many of you there. Everyone else, we’ll see you Friday!
04/24/02 – For those of you who were unable to attend the concert at Potsdam State on Tuesday night, let me give you a quick run down. Four bands, Starsailor, Injected, Default, and Nickelback. Starsailor played outside. Most of the crowd did not really get to view the fairly unknown band as they were standing in the line which started forming about 5:00 for the main concert. The four piece band did not do much “commercial” music, but had a really good sound with only one vocal microphone on the stage. They were the only band of the day which included a keyboard. The doors that were supposed to open at 7:00 did not open until about 7:15. Only one entrance kept the 300 yard long line of people waiting well over an hour and a half to get through the door. The lack of bleachers or chairs left the crowd standing in the floor of the basketball court in Maxi Hall struggling to see a stage not even three feet off the ground. The PA system had tons of “in your chest” bottom end but the vocals for the most part sounded like a dozen or so AM radios turned all the way up. I think they set up a sound system for the drums and then told the singers that they could use it too. Injected was a fairly heavy band and I was unfamiliar with all of their material. Default did several tunes and ended with their hit “Wasting My Time”. I know the singer Dallas Smith has a great voice, but I could barely hear it. Nickelback, although kept the crowd waiting for over a half hour after all the sound checks were done, of course put on the best show and the lights seemed to be way more intense for their performance. The band performed songs from their albums plus some yet unrecorded pieces. Between songs, what I could make out of singer Chad Kroeger talking to the crowd, consisted of many “f” words and the invitation for the crowd to come and get drunk with the band. I presume he did not know that 90% of the crowd was too young to drink. But hey, you never know. They did hose the crowd down with water, which some fans seemed to enjoy. For the last three songs, the sound system cleared up a bit. The band did their hit “How Your Remind Me” as an encore, starting with an acoustic verse and then done again with the whole band. All in all, a fair show. Four bands and a respectable light show, even though I wish that there would have been another entrance line, the sound had been clearer, the stage had been higher, and there had been some place to rest our weary butts, it was still well worth the $5.00 for SUNY students, $7.00 for other students, and even the $12.00 general admission. It might even have been worth the $15.00 door price, but there were no tickets to buy at the door. Wish you all could have been there. Next Time! See you Friday night at CJ’s in Winthrop.
04/22/02 – A fairly calm night compared to a normal George’s night, but still a lot of fun. The boys are scheduled back in the studio again this week, but will not be there Tuesday due to the Default/Nickelback concert. Hope all of you who were lucky enough to get tickets enjoy the show. Just one show this weekend at CJ’s in Winthrop. See you there!
04/15/02 – A busy night at CJ’s. Thank you to all who came out. This will be remembered as a pretty sad week in the Tweeter history pages. The boys were supposed to be on the road in Florida this week, but the inability to book enough shows to pay for the trip forced them to cancel the bookings they had. So the group will be back in the studio this week working on their CD, and this weekend it will be back to back shows at Georges in Norfolk. It’s kind of like a small spring break town, isn’t it? Like something just outside of Daytona? Either way, we’ll see you there!
04/08/02 – Well folks, the Tweeter site broke the 10000 hit mark this weekend. How fitting that it was on Tweeter reunion weekend. It was just in June of last year we were celebrating the 1000 hit mark, so we’ve had 9000 hits in just over 9 months, almost 1000 hits per month. Thanks to everyone who visits and makes the whole site worth doing. What a GREAT Tweeter weekend. A big night at CJ’s (and we send our thanks out to all the guys in the Chuck Phippen bachelor party). And a marvelous turn out for the Tweeter reunion on Saturday. Thanks to all who attended. We have more shirts available now for those who wanted to get them, they will be in the Tweeter store section off the main page. Tweeter is back in the studio all week hard at work on their CD. There is only one show this weekend, Friday night at CJ’s in Winthrop. See you there!
03/31/02 – Thanks to everyone who made another great night at CJ’s. Tweeter will be in the studio all this week working on their new CD and will be back at CJ’s next Friday night. Please note that the Tweeter Chat Night will be Monday, April 1st this week, and will remain Monday nights at least until the band is out of the studio. Saturday is the Tweeter Reunion at Picky’s (Friendly) Tavern in Massena. The celebration will be starting at 4:00 pm when the band will set up and play Tweeter break music throughout the day. Performances will begin around 8:00 pm and continue until 1:30 am. There will be door prizes, raffles, t-shirts, snacks, Tweeter memorabilia and Cuervo! So show up early and plan on spending the afternoon. See you there!
03/20/02 – Another great Tweeter weekend. A packed house at CJ’s on Friday and another GREAT St’ Patrick’s Day on Sunday at the Open Net. Thanks to Doren and Rita for enviting us back for year number six. A note to mail list members, we have several address that are returned as invalid. Please check the COMMUNICATI0N/INVALID ADDRESSES section to make sure you aren’t on the list. And if you know any of the people who are, please send us their correct address or contact them and have them send us the correction. We have a big birthday weekend coming up. Friday Tweeter will be at Massena Springs Tavern celebrating birthdays for Uncle Pat Villano, Kyle Pelligrino, Nikki DeLosh, Michelle Ortiz and Tweeter’s very own drummer, Shawn Haley. The celebration will be starting with the 505 club at 5:05 pm and lord knows when it will end. Any and all gifts, especially of the gag variety, will be accepted. VIP door passes are available for all mail list members. Saturday we will be celebrating the birthday of a very dear friend, Janice Gonyeau, at Ton’s Sports Bar in Potsdam. Both nights will be magnificent, so we’ll see you there!
03/11/02 – A busy weekend for the boys. Great crowds both Friday and Saturday night. Thanks to all who attended. Remember that Tweeter will be on line chatting Tuesday. March 12th, from 10:00 to 11:00. This may be a weekly event. Just look under “Communications” on the main page for the link to the chat area. This Friday Tweeter is at CJ’s in Winthrop and Sunday night (yes I said Sunday) at The Open Net Lounge in Massena for the annual St. Patty’s Day extravaganza. There is FREE admission compliments of Doren and Rita! We hope to see you all on line on Tuesday, and all out partying on Friday and of course get to the Open Net as early as possible on Sunday!
03/06/02 - WOW what a strange and interesting weekend for Tweeter. Things just didn’t seem to go as planned. Thanks to all who showed up at CJ’s. Looking on to this weekend we will be at Georges on Friday and The Other (Dark) Side in “the Burgh” on Sataturday. Anyone who would like to go but doesn’t want to drive, E-mail the band, there is always room somewhere. Hope to see everybody there. I almost forgot, we will be in the studio to do a 6-8 song demo within the next three weeks. It will be the first Original demo done by the band in its history. See you this weekend!
02/28/02 – A late news memo this week. Sorry. We have been very busy working on the members area of the site. We will be looking for new things to add to the site too, so if you have any ideas or there is anything you would like to see on the Tweeter site, please visit the email section and send them to us. Two PACKED nights last weekend. It was GREAT to see a big crowd in the Springs. Thank you to everyone who attended. Thanks also for all those that used their VIP door pass. Ton’s also was packed, but it took almost two full sets of music (and drinks) to get the crowd motivated. Just one show this weekend at CJ’s in Winthrop. See you there!
02/17/02 – a PACKED house at CJ’s this weekend. Thanks to everyone who attended. PLEASE NOTE that the Tweeter show originally scheduled for Smokey’s this Friday night, February 22, has been cancelled and Tweeter will appear at Massena Springs Tevern this Friday and at Ton’s Sports Bar in Potsdam on Saturday. Rumor has it that Rob Peets has resigned as manager of Smokey’s Pub House and they will no longer be having bands perform. Looks like it’s Uncle Wiggly from now on folks. Good news for you disco fans, bad news for you band fans. There is a free door pass available to this Friday’s show at Massena Springs for all Tweeter Mail List members. Watch for the link in your email, or if you haven’t already signed up, be sure to do it now. We have a few offers to play in Florida but need more to make the trip self supporting. If you have any connections down there, let us know who to contact or let them know we need MORE BOOKINGS. Hope you have a great week and we hope to see you all this weekend!
02/12/02 – Lots of new pictures up. We are going to try filing them by club rather than date. Still working on the user database file. We’ll keep you posted on the progress. A great weekend at George’s. Thanks to Paula, Becky, Shep, and of course George and Ellen. And ultimately to everyone who came out to party with us! Happy Valentine’s Day to everybody, and we hope you get something special from that someone special. Just one show this weekend at CJ’s in Winthrop on Friday night. See you there!
02/06/02 – Still having problems with our user database file. We’re working on it as fast as we can. We’ll keep you posted on the status. Thanks again for your patience. Back to back nights Friday and Saturday at George’s in Norfolk this weekend. What a great time that should be. Pick a night to show up, or just show up BOTH NIGHTS. See you there!
01/28/02 – I think it was a full moon because the CJ’s crowd was a little rowdy, but there was a great turn out. Saturday’s band session to work on originals fell apart when Shawn had to work late. Sorry everyone, the CD is pushed back again. The web site is almost back to normal. The members page access should be back on line this week. For those wishing to make the Florida trip, please email webmaster@tweeterandthemonkeyman.com and let us know how many people are going with you and if you are driving or need a ride. Back again for one more week at CJ’s. See you all Friday night in Winthrop!
01/21/02 – Another GREAT weekend at CJ’s, and due to a strange twist of fate Tweeter will be there for the next TWO FRIDAY’S so be sure to come on out and enjoy the show. This weekend Tweeter will be in the pre-studio working on their original material. Remember that the Florida trip is April 12th through the 21st. We have several bookings, but are still looking for more, so if you have any friends, relatives, or associates that can help us find extra bookings, please contact us as soon as possible. ALSO, for those wishing to make the trip with the band, please notify us if you will be driving, if you can take extra people, or if you will be needing a ride. See you this weekend in Winthrop!
01/15/02 – We are still having server problems, but hope to have them all cleared up soon. Sorry for any inconvenience. A great weekend for Tweeter and Tweeter fans. A packed house as usual at Smokey’s, and the new venue, The Other Side in Ogdensburg, started slow but grew into a wall to wall crowd after midnight. Thanks to everyone who came out. This weekend is CJ’s in Winthrop on Friday and a bye on Saturday. See you Friday night!
01/08/02 – We want to apologize for the web server problems we have been experiencing the last two weeks. We hope to have things straightened out by next week. For members unable to access the members section, you MUST be in the mail list database. Just join the mail list and leave a message asking for an updated password. Thanks to everyone who came out to George’s this past Friday. This weekend the Friday show will be at Smokey’s in Massena from 9:00 until 12:00 and Saturday Tweeter will appear for the first time at The Other Side (formerly The Dark Side) in Ogdensburg. Please be sure to join us at the ever popular and packed Smokey’s and be sure to make the trek to Ogdensburg with us to enjoy Tweeter in a new environment with new people. See you this weekend!
01/04/02 – Happy New Year to everyone! A great weekend for Tweeter! And what a GREAT New Years Eve party at CJ’s. We apologize to those who got turned away at the door, but Ma did not dare exceed the rated occupancy by too much. Tweeter rocked until about 4:30am. A great breakfast was served at 5:00am. The band left at 6:00am, and they were still rockin’ to the DJ “Full Speed”. Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend. This Friday Tweeter is at George’s where Shep has been waiting for us. We hope to see Paula and Becky too. Saturday is off. See you in
